Nefarious is right!   I think this is a FALSE FLAG by Ukraine, to justify sending their troops into Transnistria TO GRAB THE WEAPONS STORAGE DEPOT AT COBASNA, which has enough ammunition, shells, rockets, and other weaponry, to supply the entire Ukraine army for a year.

Ukraine is desperate for ammo.  Hundreds of tons of ammo are sitting in Transnistria and Ukraine seems intent on taking it.

From an article this morning (https://www.businessinsider.com/french-president-wont-rule-out-sending-troops-ukraine-2024-2) in Business Insider comes an alarming statement:

French President Emmanuel Macron told reporters after the Monday meeting that the prospect of sending Western troops to Ukraine could not "be ruled out."

Russian first-strike nuclear policy permits use of nuclear weapons if there is a threat to the existence of the Russian state. Any incursion by NATO countries into Ukraine could be viewed as such.

There has been major backlash among French opposition members  (https://www.politico.eu/article/french-right-and-left-hammer-macron-floating-western-troops-ukraine/)on both the left and right. One member of the right opposition stated, "it is the lives of our children that he speaks about with such carelessness,” with a member of the left opposition calling Macron's statement a "belligerent verbal escalation by one nuclear power against another major nuclear power." referring to it as an "irresponsible act."

And while many people within western countries may support Ukraine in theory, they've done little personally and seem to have no desire for such escalatory measures.

The French people themselves have demonstrated a great deal of apathy in personal support of Ukraine. In a poll from February 2023 (https://focus2030.org/SURVEY-FRENCH-PEOPLE-AND-SUPPORT-TO-UKRAINIAN-REFUGEES-AN-UNPRECEDENTED-1040). only 25% had even been willing to post about the conflict on social media. And in the US, a poll taken in November showed support for Ukraine has been eroding. Since any move by European nations to deploy troops would likely require US support, such a scenario seems unlikely.

The Kremlin noted Macron's remarks regarding the discussion of sending military personnel to Ukraine, stated Peskov.

If this were to occur, the presidential press secretary believes the government would need to discuss not the likelihood, but the inevitability of a direct clash between Russia and NATO.

Peskov refrained from commenting on the court decision in the case of Nikita Zhuravel, stating that it is not a Kremlin matter, and therefore, they do not comment on court decisions.

Several European countries maintain a cautious assessment of the potential danger involved in deploying troops to Ukraine and getting involved in an active conflict.

Putin continues preparations for his message; no public events are scheduled for today or tomorrow, as intense work is ongoing.

The Kremlin has not observed any calls from Navalny's supporters for protests on election day, but these individuals are known for making provocative calls, which is considered a harmful practice.

Calls to participate in protests on election day carry legal and law enforcement consequences for those who respond to them in any manner.
